FLIR releases free thermography guide

FLIR Systems has issued a free outline of infrared thermography designed for both experienced and novice users of the inspection technology.

The guide, titled ‘IR Thermography Primer,’ can be downloaded as a PDF or ordered as a booklet from the company’s website. It provides details on the concepts of thermography, how it works and its applications in temperature measurement.

Thermography is a method of visually identifying heat sources on an image base. It can be used to find hidden components and diagnose factory conditions such as poor electrical connections.

The guide explains the important functions of infrared cameras and techniques for improving their performance and useability over 28 full-colour pages.
