MICRO-Epsilon says its new thermoMETER CT ratio pyrometer which extends its range of temperature sensors will be on display at the SPS|IPC|DRIVES exhibition in Nürnberg.
According to the measurement technology company, the non-contact temperature sensor, is only dependent on the emissivity ratio but not on the absolute emissivity. The sensor measures and forms a ratio by using two short wavelengths close to each other, therefore the emissivity of the target is no longer required for measurements.
The manufacturer says the temperature sensor provides a measuring range of 700°C to 1,800°C at a maximum ambient temperature of 250°C without cooling and is primarily used in metal processing applications.
Micro-Epsilon says the thermoMETER CT ratio pyrometer can be used as a standard single-channel IR sensor or as a ratio pyrometer.
