WESTEK Electronics has released a phase meter that is said to be immune to noise and multiple zero crossings by using discrete Fourier analysis.
The Powertek SD1000 phase meter can be used for voltage-to-voltage, voltage-to-current and current-to-current phase measurement applications. This makes it suitable for phase protection relays, power meters, energy meters and current transformer calibration.
The company says the unit has isolated inputs, making it useful in phase comparison of signals that do not share common grounds. It also eliminates accidental grounding and ground-loop currents.
According to the manufacturer, the device has basic phase accuracy of 0.02 degrees for signals up to 700kHz, a maximum voltage input of 500V and can compare signals with a dynamic range of 10,000:1.
